Surrounded by art, artists, artifacts, poets, writers, painters, an art gallery with a river and a lush therapeutic landscape – who could ask for a more perfect June afternoon!

I snatched some time to explore Joshua Creek, to feel the grass blades between my toes, hang upside down, indulge in senseless chit-chat, and make a list of brilliant fellow authors whom I planned to read over the year. I also made a pledge to take a break for the rest of my summer to swim in the crystal waters of Lake Erie, taste the charcoal on my first BBQ, wait for the ice-cream truck and soak the sunshine of our short-lived Canadian sunshine!
