Where Am I From
I am from water gun fights and chocolate delights
All year storms and harvesting corn
From Bough Beaches and Burger King
Freedom is where I am from
I’m from ‘who is your boyfriend? And is that a fact?’
From annoying my mom and not knowing how to act
Mischief is where I am from
I’m from warm sands of Lakeshore and from Sailor Moon on Sunday mornings
And to be told that ‘you have one last chance warning!’
I’m from little jolly stories and basking in fairy tale glories
From spending all my money without any doubts or worries
Happiness is where I am from
I am from the joy of the season, and holler without reason
From snowy nights that light up the sky
Where the moon shows us places to fly
On a quill I spread my wings and sigh
High into the night without saying bye
And just when I think that I will begin to cry
Father Christmas decides it’s time to swing by
I jingle and I jangle and I come back down,
Wonder is where I am from
If people knew me as they claim they do
They might be find that I speak the truth
So believe me when I say this, once and above
The house I live in was built and runs on love
Love where I am from
