It was an overflowing traditional community crowd and addressing issues of honour killing, female infanticide, domestic violence were difficult and imperative.
The journey has just begun. There is not a society, or a single field, or a single culture that is immune to patriarchy. International Women’s Day comes with but one promise- may the reasons to break sexist habits be greater than the reasons to perpetuate it.
Calling out on evils–honour killing, female infanticide, domestic violence- misinterpretation of cultural practices and traditions- took courage addressing an overflowing traditional community gathering.
